As said get a compression test. Check your oil cap, header cap and oil dipstick for a creamy mayo, if found then will be the gasket.
Are you using having to top up the water at all.and are you losing power?

no creamy any were no power lose water is full still

Then you may have a air lock. Empty the water system and stick a hosepipe in the header bottle to flush the cr@p out, top it back up and try again. But do get a compression test done just in case.
