Have you gone gay? First a thread about 1.8 T engines and now needing stuff for a TT.... lol
i can see where this is going
me too....
Take the TT body off, drop nova shell ontop. EASIER than cutting and welding the driveline in lol

Just a thought at the moment.
A proper 4wd system, not the Vauxhall crap, would be awesome...
isnt the TT system 'like' the vaux one? with the ghemo torque convertor etc
it may be, but it is
a. newer
b. better
c. more likely to be bought these days.
surely a skoda would be a cheaper donor?
LOTS of smashed up TT's about.... which are nearly the right sizes...
skidmark 4wd is rare and wrong size etc.
Newer dosent automatically mean better. The BMW X5/X3 4wd system is basically the same as the vauxhall one
so they paid getrag to do it & getrag went to the parts bin. etc........
paul, looky at 4wd golfs aswell, same system, might be cheaper. mk2 golf g60 synchro would be bloody close i'd think...
the tt quatto has a haldex system.
the tt quatto has a haldex system.
so very very very similar to the vauxhall one then with its limited slip coupler... hmm
used in lolvos too
The day i see a Vauxhall 4wd system launch anything like a Quattro one, my opinion may change.
note I never said the GM system was good..... just perhaps the quattro/haldex isnt 'the best' ever either. Although given its dues, it does seem to take a pounding rather well.

Just rember you need all the wiring, haldex controller, full abs system etc etc, I have thought about it may times as I have a 8L chassis S3 but the 4wd system only runs Fwd full time untill the rear is required ( like stu says, similar to the vaux one) you need the abs system as it controlls the ESP which inturn controlls the ECD. if you have a abs sensor fail then you loose ESP, ABS, ECD all together, and trust me when I say it isn't worth a fcuk without those systems to controll it, I speak from experiance as my abs sensor went 2 months ago, it's also worth noting that you can put a vag 4x4 car on a 2wd rolling road simply by removing a fuse, look up R32 rolling road vids on you tube.
All that aside, if you have the time, money and skill then go for it. :)
