right i brought a nova not so long ago not running the 1st time iv ever done this btw lol was told the starter had gone when some1 had tried to nick it,
ignition barrel had been blackboxed and then hotwired f'kin ****s and the key part lost.
so i re-fitted the blackboxed part of the ign barrel to the wires and im not sure if they are correct ... i get ignition lights come on but when i go to crank nothing happens...
iv changed the starter moter cus the guy said it had gone ... all the wires am correct so what could it be? iv heard the solenoid click a few times but it dont spin the starter what could it be? been on it all bloody day i hate ellectrical problems lol

Hardwire the starter to the battery with a jump lead, see if it works, ifi it does, trace the red+black wire back from the starter to the ignition barell, if thats ok, then it must be the ign barell thats shat itself.

oh yes, because thats the only thing i enjoy in life lol

connect the starter terminal directly to live on the battery, if it turns over its your starter circuit, if it doesn't its your starter or you've not connected the starter wire properly and are living the wrong part

the lead from the gearbox earths the whole engine so no good earth then no spark or starter.

we didnt put it to the box we put it to where the battery earths maybe thats why but seemed like the right thing to do as that would be the best place in a way. ill try it to the box 2moz...
so there should be 4 wires off the back of the starter the live straight from the batt and two smaller wires with spade connectors and then a earth that goes to the box?

non of the wires at the starter are earths they are all lives and switched lives for speed i would put a jump lead from the engine or gearbox then to the earth on the battery and then try the starter, to make it turn over all you need is a permant live and the trigger wire and away you go.
