stop revving the taters off it at full lock???

or start buying decent quality cv joints??

people are running 300hp thru these shafts with no trouble...

lol at sharft. There is no r in shaft,no matter where you come from.
Anyway, your either too low or doing burnouts everywhere on full lock

YOu keep breaking actual shafts? Or cv's?

Either way, something is wrong putting a load of stress on the cv's

cvs and found out that driver shaft got no play in it

You either had a duff cv joint or as said before you are putting too much strain on it.

Are you fitting the cv correctly?

I have seen the clip jump off, and the shaft slide out almost to the end, then when you put power through the end 8mm of shaft, it snaps inside the cv?

what 2 duff cvs i use other drive shaft so was on correctly

You got the correct spline cv? hub nut correct torque setting because FT loads them up too much, grease the cv properly when fitting?

He sounds like he has changed shafts.

There is something seriously wrong, like horendous, to snap 2 cvs, under no loads etc.

Sure theyre not corsa shafts? As that will be the problem...

NOVABOY8

what the correct torque setting

100nm, then slacken off, then 20nm and 80-90 degrees,

Do 1.2 shafts fit with the F13? I thought they were different splines...

comptoncj

They fit in the box, all small block shafts fit in an F13 IIRC 1.2 shafts are 28 spline and GTE are 22.

MattBrown

All cv gearbox end slpines are the same on all smallblock stuff.

All big block are the same.

Hence 22 spline GTE shafts go into the bigblock mk2 cav cvs.

Regardless, what he is doing is right

Sorry for the O.T.

As above all small block shafts fit small block boxes iirc.

Also if the drivers side shaft has no play in it it sounds like the engine could be too far over to the drivers side.

some c.v. joints dont come with grease. ie ones from virgin auto parts.

you are buying a couple sachets of grease and filling the c.v. joint arnt you?

a mate said to cut the shaft and make it 10mm shorter

a mate said to cut the shaft and make it 10mm shorter

no!!!! fixing a problem with a bodge is not the answer...

its more likely that the lower arm is bent causing the hub to be closer in, causing there to be no play in the cv joints.

get the tape measure out & see if something is out of whack somewhere
