1.6 16V baby XE, are any mods needed on the conrod caps as per 2.0 stuffs?

Countersinking the rod caps slightly. (Edit: for the 2.0, dunno about the 1.6)

i would say they will need modding, as all arp bolts seem to have that "shape" to them.

ah yes! they need doing, did it for my small block - 1mm think..
even tho its a 1.8, same bottom end bits..
the caps fracture tho - so are unique , dont jingle them up! lol

Deffinatly need doing and I'm pretty sure it's 1mm aswell. I remember when my mate had to do it when building his engine for rally car

Yes they will need doing, If you check yor STD rods there will be no chamfer already. If you dont do it it can cause the cap to crack.

Never did any mod's to mine thought it was the 2.0 stuff only that needed that doing!?!?! Hopefully not giving mine the kiss of death I've had no problems in the last 2 years and it rev's to 8750rpm on a regular basis when competing although I am using H section rods and not standard items

Steel rods already chamfered and they are designed to be used with ARP bolts.
