View Full Version : equal length drive shaft
hey chaps, bit of a query but did all calibra turbo 4wd come with an equal length drive shaft?
reason being is that i enquired today at 2 local motor factors for the inner cv joint and they seem to be able to get me one by the next day. im just curious if it will be for an equal length shaft as they can only confirm its the o/s inner.
thanks for any help
bruce
Why not just get one off browney?
Calibra turbo won't have an equal length shaft as the transfer box is on the side of the gearbox where it would go.

Doh, i didnt engage my brain before i posted. what vehicles are they on?
Not certain, i've seen them on a lot of 16v Calibras but believe some 8v's might have had them as well. Must be on Cav's as well but never seen them on Astras.

Didn't the offside front / inner CV on a Turbo have the same / (very) similar fitment as one for an equal length set up ?

Yes iirc.
some astras run em, as do some vectras.
replied to pm from browney.
so in theory, rather than getting the motor factors to trawl through there computers, if i had the reg for a calibra that has an equal length shaft(from factory) then they should be able to sort me out.
anybody got a reg number for one? lol
