I painted my 1.6 cam cover, done it right, back to clean metal, etch primer, celly primer, 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of laqure, it lasted a month and then peelled of lol

i've been quoted 40 quid to get the xe cam cover powder coated, just giving them it all stripped down and they do all the work and the heat don't effect it.

Rub your covers down. Prime and paint. Your mates probably peeld because of no primer. As with all painting, the key to a good finish is in the prep.

I sprayed mine with normal car spray paint. Mines still fine. Its all down to the preperation as they are usually covered in oil and grease, so make sure you clean it properly before you paint and it should be fine!;)
