Yeah, most 1300's have been binned. as with all things retro, people want what they can't ahve, thus prices are strong.
Now is the time to buy an XE to be fair. lol
stock rod/grasser boys will go mad for it.
boring f10. but it might have a low diff. the estates had lower diffs to cope with large loads.

i've known a stock rod guy i know pay 200 notes for a mk1 astra box blind, just to get the diff he was after.

Prob cos it might have a good diff in it for the stock rod boys (or a second gear)
get the wire brush out & see what diff is in it..
a 1.2 estate is the 4.53:1
i think it is either 4.18 or 3.94, but i'm really not certain
Ok so not all that rare then, but still might have a good 2nd gear in it.

I like the sound of this too - Mk1 Astra estate 1.3 engine and 4spd box anyone lol
Its the cluster they look for. if the 2nd gear is 2.21 ratio the fetch £300. Also on some Mk1 astras there is a head which has different ports to the rest of the 1300's, it has a flatter more direct approach to the back of the valve. These are often sought after by some short oval racers. The inlet manifolds are used by autograss class 2 racers too.
it sold for £175 to a autocross lad!
