It comprises of a crownwheel and pinion, but that's not important right now.

GTE will be a E16SE engine (no cat)
GSi will be a C16SE engine (with cat)
Power & Torque is the same.
Trim is different. GTE is old skool hard plastic. GSi is more modern and softer.
GSi has flashy leccy headlight adjusters
GSi is heavier
GSi is quieter inside (if left unmolested and bog standard)

There were fewer GTE's

GSI will not always have a cat and c16se engine. the front look different as well, gsi being younger should have less rust and black trim

The dizzy and Bosch AFM is on the E16 and the C16 has coilpack and no Bosch afm iirc ( as said c16 also has a cat and lambda)

the e16 is odd, the best way is to work with a loom, if you have a loom that is for a e16 ( ie no lambda or knock sensor ) then just get the dizzy and ecu to fit the plugs, cos by the looks of it there is no pattern to follow lol
