whats the big deal...

i've seen toyota rav4s, shogun pinins & various yank stuff that were in 2wd, even a lot more imprezzas than you think are actually 2wd......

i know a bloke who was 100% sure that he owned a quattro..... but there was no back diff..... apparently they didn't have one...

Just like the Ford Kuga, it was released with 4wd then they found feck all were selling so dropped to 2wd to get better emissions... WIN

Mike, a Rangey sport IS a Discovery lol

they might be underneath, but when you compare a sport diesel v8 to a disco3 v6td it is rather like chalk & cheese...

ps. i had a car with the same underneath as a volvo s40.... a mitsubishi spacestar.. chalk/cheese....

Even when they're built to Rally-spec? (taken at a local rally to me, there are 5 or so identical ones of these made).

That's one of the M-Sport built cars. They were built for recces and gravel crews. A few still being used to good effect, also one being used for cross country rallying.

Freelanders are pretty underrated really, still pretty effective off road, just a shame it was rover derived engines and boxes in the early ones, last of the freelander 1's and the freelander 2's are fairly decent! Although they are still a bit gay compared to their brethren lol

Er negative! Its got some rust, but thats been there for ever. The nova has gone from clean to total rusting hulk in about 12 months, where as the Celica has managed >5 years with only a couple spots coming up :p

I dunno

I remember watching the first Camel Trophy when the freelander came out. Basically each team had a freelander or two and a 110 support vehicle.

TBH they may as well have driven the 110's through the jungle, walked back with a 100km long winch cable, and just winched the useless heaps of turd all the way through.
