let alternator

just to make sure i'm not being a fish because the brand new old stock alternator i spent hours sanding and polishing doesn't appear to charge.

its a 70amp

i've got three connectors
1 large positive to battery
1 small positive to clocks
1 small earth

I didn't connect the earth as i presumed it earth through the mounts

am i a fish or not?

I would try an earth first matey.

Make sure theres excellent continuity on the big 3*

Gearbox to chassis leg*
Alternator + to battery*
Alternator casing, to engine block*

Must be 13.8v on the battery whilst its running etc:)
