Re-trimming door cards

The door cards in my Nova are the Grey plasticy fake-leather stuff at the moment. But as the cars been sat for years, they have went mouldy.

I'm looking to re-trim them black (most likely fitting a black leather interior I have), are there any guides/how to's on doing this. I've done it to pillars and the likes before with spray adhesive and flexible black fabric. Would this work, or do I need to unstitch + sew new material.

Have a look at the link in my sig, towards the end of the re-build there are pics of the cards being re-trimmed.
