hi my mum wants to buy a diesel car, she has £1500 - £2400 to spend just want to know what car you would advise has to be cheap tax and insurance, i was looking at a peugeot 206 hdi 1.4 or 2.0 but as i havent a clue about these cars just want some advise on the peugeot or any other cars you guys can think of cheers :thumb:

well for cheap tax you want to be looking for 2001 plate onwards as their tax goes off emissions, for me french cars are a no no, i would personally go for a cdti astra or a tdci focus

VW golf/polo, although tax on the 1.9tdi golf is around £200 per year but its cheap to insure
