View Full Version : Revs dropped off, random
I pulled out of a junction and my foot slipped off the clutch (had diesel on my shoes after filling up) and the tyres span up (as they do) it hit the limiter once or twice and all the power died, I then dipped the clutch and revved it up, it revved fine so I drove off.
Any ideas?
Hmm a likely story! lol
If I slip off the clutch, I tend to release the throttle - rather than keep it decked! :)
Its quite normal to do this for an XE... I assume thats what it is?

he wish it was a xe lol
it hit grip and discovered it's underpowered and cant push through traction, giving the impression it had lost power after your wikkidy bo burnout out of a junction.
lollollol @ the comments, no its a 1.2i I personally think the gearbox is about done as it makes a whine when slowing down and pushing it into 1st, or the clutch, a mate said fueling problem but I doubt that.
What isnt ****ed on it though?

The hazard switch.
Give it a week
If that breaks I'll blame you, honestly it really is one of the very few things that do actually work 110% wiper/washer stalks are fine too, anyway can this go back on topic, although I'm not actually arsed about the car I was just confused as to what happened.

if it still starts and runs then ignore it lol
i would
It drove fine afterward for about 30 miles so it cant be anything major, just curious as to what else is falling apart lol

Someone must have spilled diesel before I went to fill up, honest guv.
Must have been on me tyres too.
Edit: Oh and I had the throttle down when the revs died off, possibly to the floor I'm not sure and the revs backed off slowly as if I'd revd it up and let it roll back down normally.
