View Full Version : No power to ecu 2.0 8v
As above,all 3 earths on the inlet connected,the premanent live is on battery but the ecu light will not go on,nor do the revs move when cranking.
Any ideas why or what ive missed??

ignition live its on seperate plug.?
thats connected but it should light the ecu light regardless
oh,and ive tried a different ecu and still the same...........
Fuel pump relay. If it's wired right the ecu takes power via this.
/\ what he said, btw andy mine doesnt put an ecu light on for 2 secs, then it comes on.....
so basically im a fukktard and need to stop being impatient and join the rest of the wires?
well,joined the rest of the wires,came on for a bit and has now gone off,so im presuming there is a connection at fault,doesnt power the fuel pump either
change the fuel pump relay, or short it out wih some wire
tried another relay which i know is good as its off my xe,no avail

yeah,i need it done to be fair,going to have another crack tomorrow.Its gotta be summat daft as the light came on then went off.However the pump,as i said,didnt come on after cranking,which it used to with the xe.
Just dont understand as theres fukk all wires to them lol
Just be a case of trying each connection i suppose
how do you short the relay,just join a wire from the live to the pump terminals or summat?
yup just direct feed the pump. blue/red wire...
what about the ecu light problem though?
getting fuel is ok,but with no spark it no fire lol
try the crank sensor mate....
thats a known good un off the xe
wiring ok to it? the other thing is, the little black wire near the coil, wire it direct to the battery live. the car should start but it wont turn off till you disconnect it. if this works you need a different switched live. if that doesnt work, check pin 18 and pin 27. 27 should be a permanent live from the battery, 18 should come on when the ign is on and when cranking. is it out of a cav or a mk2 astra?

small possibility of it being immobilizered mate on a k plate.

another non immob ecu. i have one..... and a **** load of spares. you can have em tbh....
tried absolutely everything and more and it just wont go.ready to light the lot now
bugger. best i can do is come up on sat next week and bring a **** load of spares. it will be something basic. i feel for you mate, as the corsa did the same to me....

Do you still have your loom?? Would you sell it?? im thinking something could be wrong with it somewhere,even though ive stripped the full lot and traced every cunting wire!!!!

got power at ecu now and the coil,fuel pump still wont go though,and the ecu light still dont shine lol
Where does the coil plug go rob? left or right?
Also theres power going into the coil but no power at the leads or from the king lead itself.
It cant be much more now lol
Bridged the relay terminals and the pump went,so i reckon its the relay and coil goosed??
change the coil mate. it doesnt matter what plug it goes on.
oh and bridge the relay to get the pump to run.
what about the crank sensor? you dont reckon it could be that?
possibly mate. they are that simple.
is there any way me or spud could come pick up some of the things it could be one night this week please? as weekend i have no free time.
