Which alternator?

I'm going to buy a newly refurbished alternator for the c20xe in my gsi because mines making an annoying noise! Which is best to buy?
Obviously an xe one would be the most obvious choice but to save cash what others can i run.. Would a standard nova alt work

Iirc a standard Nova one will bolt up but the aux belt will catch the cam belt cover, why not just buy the correct xe one?

Well i wouldn't of thought using a standard nova alt would make any difference. So just to save cash really since I'm not planning on keeping the car for much longer
