Hi all,
I am rebuilding my 1.4 engine and now ready to torque up the head bolts but just read on autodata that I need to let the engine run for 15 mins but my engine is on a stand so it wont be run for a while yet do I just carry on with the rest of the stages to tighten or do i need to do something else ?
if you follow haynes figures, with new bolts, there is no need to retorque after its warmed up

 Tool
OP: just had a look non my autodata, and as you say the early C14NZ requires running, but the later (94ish) has different sequence, which is what i would suggest using instead.
1) 25nm
2) 60 degrees
3) 60 degrees
4) 60 degrees
tight as fook n then a quarter of a turn twice
get to fook :tosser:

engine all torqued up now but I need help with the timing side of things now can anyone help please.
in what way???
we normally advise a new water pump & cambelt, simply because to adjust a belt needs the water pump to move, and loosening an old one up usually makes it fail

I have a new water pump and belt. So just need to put belt on and set the timing marks but unsure how to get TDC to set it up correctly.
take the plugs out..set the bottom pulley to the mark, set the top pulley to the mark, fit the cambelt, tighten it with the new pump.. that is it
