WOOOOOOP! My first pikey tool improvisation!

Didn't have a socket to remove the gearbox sump plug....

Used a wheel bolt and a 17mm spanner! Worked a treat :)

And to think that people took the piss out of me because my daddy bought me a speedboat because my pony was sick!!

More detail would have helped, had to use my damm brain to work out how you used a bolt and a spanner.

Why didn't you just get Asa to get the correct tools from his work?

Hammered the bolt into the square recess of the sump plug then turned out with the spanner?

sump plug is a female 17mm hex, Put the bolt in to the sump plug used the remaining visible head to slide a spanner on and turned... :thumb:

tom, it sounds like a pretty good improv....

most square sump plugs are like 8 or 10mm, so we've used ground down bolts. our trucks & diggers have some really huge hexs & we have a special bit of tube that slots over them to undo.......

just wait till you have to start warming your spanners up to make them fit round something........ the din quality sets from lidl are perfect for it & v cheap
