Cant see the piccy but I shall use my imagination lol.

You'd want to cut out a "window" in the bonnet then fit something like 2-3mm Polycarb (NOT perspex) with the aid of GRP round the edges and possibly rivets to keep semi flush with the bonnet. Then fix the cosmetics and done.

Have to say though, if your engine leaks oil etc it will only be clear for about 5 mins lol

I could be wrong but I don't think that's actually a transparent bonnet, what people sometimes do is take a pic with the bonnet up and down then photoshop it so it looks like that.

Highly likely that's a Photoshop.

yes you are right it is photoshop. but i was woundering if you can get bonnets like it. as you can get glass and tint it slightly to get the color but still have it clear. as i think if you have a nice shiney clean engine its wrong to keep it hiden away behind a big chunk of metal.

i was thinking like you said cut a window out of the bonnet but the whole thing just leaving the very edge to hold it in place. would that work?..

im thinking about just getting perspex or some liqued glass and molding it over my bonnet and removing it after it has set. is there anyway to do this aswell

Wedging it into the hole wouldnt work - as soon as it flexed it would drop out.

Stuart I put "like" this, don't be a tool.

Transparent acrylic bonnet. Personally it looks cr@p though for day to day use, but would look okay for shows when it rains lol

anything clear enough to see thru will either shatter, or melt.

i have seen heat shrunk inner engine covers on motor show cars, but they are purely for static display
