what makes you think the crank has snapped? You would do very well to snap a crank!

Rock it in gear, if the cambelt moves, its fine, if not, then it might be snapped.

IF it has snapped, then it might have bent a few valves.

Has it not sheared the woodruff key on the belt side that the lower main pulley slides onto?

i will gladly put money on it that you have not snapped the crank, more likely stripped teeth off the belt or sheered the woodruff key

But he's saying there is no movement when trying to start, even if the belt had snapped the crank would still turn.

But he's saying there is no movement when trying to start, even if the belt had snapped the crank would still turn.i dont care. spekky runs over 500bhp on a standard crank and hasnt snapped one so how the hell has luke managed to

Em if the starter has gone fook all will move, personaly I'd remove the flywheel cover plate and check it's actually turning as the op has not said what's not moving, he doesn't say if the starter has been checked, missing teeth on the starter, chewed ring gear I'll sugest these but at no point suggested a snapped crack as I've never seen one or heard of one snapping.

the battery is probably flat lmfao

" click " lol

I'm looking at the starter not " popping " out and thus just giving a whirring noise and no movement, very much doubt a ring gear problem but it can happen ( brothers 2.9 4x4 sierra )

EDIT
more details here from the op's last thread

well...... it could be anything...

take plugs out , remove the timing cover & stick it in top gear & with the handbrake off, rock it back & forwards... if it all turns properly, then it can't be mechanical.

now.... if a battery is low, the starter can cause the engine to turn to a position where is doesn't normally rest, this can cause the starter gear to not engage with the ring gear, so it just goes thud. rocking back & forth will help with that. if the battery needs a proper charge, get it done.

check timing, then bump start it.
