View Full Version : Eibach rear shims
Do these actually work or just a gimmick and when installed do they push the wheels out a bit acting like a thin spacer?
you found the ebay ones then?
they are basically what you said.... just a small spacer on the bottom 2 hub mount bolts, & it looks like one of those horrible mug pictures....or a vw

colin had some of these at nats we could not work out how they work lol
edit im talking about the rear camber ones
There is a guide on youtube
there are also scouts & brownies, but i don't think they'll help much...
is your rear beam bent? if not, then you don't need them. if you are looking for a cool rear camber, it will not handle any better, because of the rear beam design, the rear wheels should run better in std camber.
in other words waste of money

Horses for courses.
If you want negative 'scene' camber as seen on all shonky dubs these days, I'm sure they work. Great for wearing your inner tyre edges too.
They only allow 1.5 degrees, hardly noticeable by eye

Must be wafer then, as thin washers on the lower stub axle holesmake a dramatic difference I found.
A guy on corsasport, cant remember his username atm, ran some thin shims, washers, whatever they were on his corsa track car and noticed a massive increase of rear grip with them fitted.
funny cos rear grip isn't really much of an issue on a nova, keeping the front down is the challenge
CP used hacksaw blades clamped in the assembly to get some more neggy rear camber anda little toe alteration too lol
pikey FTW

So you have never ever had the rear end step out...?
Never had rear on my Novas step out, the corsa did it a few times though
Have to say though, When you lower a nova/corsa back end you dont get camber changes like you do with the fronts deu to the nature of the pivot points etc.
But yes you can play with the toe/camber to see if you can improve things :)
Ive had my corsa step out after fitting the rear anti roll, nova wasnt tight enough to do it.
If you can improve the amount of tyre in contact with the road when going around corners, its ideal imo.
I'm going to adapt a Cav ARB to fit a Nova beam when I get some time, I wana see if 2nd ARB really is as good as people say
How are you going to do that, its iirc 6cm too wide to fit.
Make some sort of block where the ARB bolts onto and that block attaches to the beam, might work, need to have a proper look and take some measurements
Or heat it up and bend it a little lol
So you have never ever had the rear end step out...?
well, when my first one had 145, then 155 & finally 165/70r13s & about 90 hp, with no arb's i could make it drift if i wanted to but it didn't make it any faster.....
with my 185's i get more understeer.
If your pushing hard and the back end steps out it is going to make you slower, keeping the rear planted will also improve the feeling of the car, feels more planted etc.
making the front end grip & letting the back end follow is the best way.
