if i was that bently owner id install steering wheel airbags to the back of the wheels so when they pull it off they get a face full of rim ok you might damage a wheel but the fooker will have bently center cap teeth not hard to spot walking down the road lol

Anyone read the comments??
Err, WTF??

No one has mentioned the police's reaction. When a similar thing (although admittedly, not an a Bentley, a mid range hatchback) happened to my family we were told by the police that it wasn't a crime, because the car was parked on our drive.

Apparently, taking a whole car off a private drive is a crime, and taking parts such as bumpers, batteries and wheels off a car is only a crime when it happens on a public road but not if it is parked on a private drive. They even repeated that when it happened again a few weeks later and expressed that they were impressed with the skill of the people who were able to dismantle a car so quickly and quietly.

Perhaps they will take this theft more seriously as the value of the parts is so much more?

lol, not a crime to remove bits from peoples cars if its on their drive!

I'm popping out. Keep an eye on your cars peeps!!

i have just flicked through my little book of law and i have found that if someone take's stuff off your car on the drive way and they didnt cause damage then there is nothing you can do really but.. if they break a window scratch the paint ect then you can get them done for criminal damage but then again if your drive has a gate/fence then they are tresspassing and there fore stealling from your property so you can get them arrested and charged.. im sure there is more but i got bored of reading books lol

Are you serious?

Are you telling me I could go round someones house and strip their car of its bumpers and wheels, most of the suspension components and maybe the odd body panel, and provided the car is on their gateless drive they wouldn't be able to do anything about it?

I thought the woman was mis-informed, but if thats true its utterly discusting!!!

Yeah, thats the ultimate irony. Man A starts to unbolt man B's bumper on his drive. Man B busts a cap in Man A's ass. Man B gets arrested because it was him who broke the law. Man A has bullet removed from said ass and goes back to retrieve Man B's bumper because Man B's in prison and cant shoot him again.

Gutted but his car still cost more money than ill ever see, no sympathy from me. The owners wife 'asked to remain anonymous' probably some premier league donkey.

And the daily mail can **** off too.
I'm in a good mood :)

Glad I'm not the first one to think that.

Sod moving the car after the second time, I'd set the car up and watch it.

Meh, easiest option would be to look at some pics from shows (PVS), find the barrys with Bently wheels on (Astra), find them on a forum, little deduction to figure out where they are and go rob them (back) lol

Benn

Thing i noticed is the 2 in the back ground, neither have been touched. Odd that they go direct for his when there are 2 others close.. Up set someone?

Or maybe that one just had the most bling wheels of the three lol

Graeme
26-07-10, 08:03 AM
Isn't it just a simple case of supply and demand though, if its the current desired wheel with vag lot, then obviously you are goin to get vermin nicking them and cashing in, like previous comments have said why haven't they fitted locking wheel bolts/nuts, i know it doesn't take alot to get them off but it might slow them down enough to get caught or deter them next time

Benn
26-07-10, 08:08 AM
Wouldn't even slow then down dude.

Real wheel thieves will have a bag full of keys plus a hammer and socket.

Graeme
26-07-10, 08:18 AM
I see your point Benn, I suppose its better that they drop it in the disks than beat up the owner for the keys and take the lot

a nice car like that and not even a tilt sensor or decent locking bolts.

lol i thought that too.

And with regards to the other Bentleys, i'm guessing its because they have the naff 5 spokes. Hence they are still on the car?!

Mike
26-07-10, 02:56 PM
Tilt sensors are pish easy to get around anyway. More so on a heavy car with IRS too.

The sheeeeeer ease I've removed 'locking' wheel nuts with in the past makes me just put regular bolts in lol.

So 'technically' you should get an insurance discount for parking on the street as opposed to the driveway?
