Right, bit of a dilemma, basically i got some 288mm discs and calipers off a lad down south, you know the cally/cav turbo calipers and discs, i was presuming these were the fial coupe type discs:

the284mm ones which are a straight swap which these at the moment fit fine but they are warped and one has a crack in them, no worrys ebay pick up a new set of decent fiat coupe 20v non turbo:

but there is a problem, discs will fit on hub fine and i have done the mod of drilling each stud hole out by 1mm, disc fits fine untill wheel is tightened and the outside brake pad in the caliper rubs on the outside disc face and the wheel hardly turns, did the same with some cav turbo drilled and grovved discs aswell, everything measures up the same except the width on the bit of the disc which mounts on the hub is 4mm bigger on the new discs than the old even know there apperently for the same car this bit:
old disc:

new disc:

will someone please tell me why this is happening as mot time calls thanks

Check the face of the hub before you mount the disc. Or try and spin the disc without it being mounted to check its not warped.

Also strip the sliders on your calipers. Give them a clean up.

You want the fiat tubo discs, not the N/A ones. The latter are too short, hence the rubbing against the caliper.

Judging by the dimenions on brakeparts.co.uk, yeah.

Unfortunately I can't remember what discs I got for mine, whether they were N/A or turbo ones :(

The discs you need for this are the Fiat Coupe 16v/20v N/A discs, NOT the turbo ones. They are 284mm x 22mm x 39.4mm.

says this in articles forum though? thats where i read it

think they are 284 discs as there from a fiat coupe, not sure on calipers, its strange as the old discs were off a fiat coupe though and they work fine, just nackered
