Had a bid on a kit-car at a price I never thought I'd get it at and have received a 2nd chance offer, but my garage is a little limited for space as I want to get a mk1 Astra too, the kit car is engineless and pretty much bodyless, but obviously it has the roll bar/oval bar to protect you if it rolls over, so could I fit a mk1 Astra and a kit car in a single garage? It's slightly longer than your standard garage?

It's a Dutton, can't store it outside as i rent my garage and if I tried to hang it up I think my garage would collapse lol , very tempted though

yeh i just found it. did you get it at any where near that price on ebay?

and depending on the axle (english or atlas) thats worth 100 quid plus lol.

if you can store it, do. only one way to find out lol.

and possibly chop of the roll cage tubes, and refit.weld new ones in at a later date

I was the 'winning' bidder at £72, tempted to offer him £100 delivered lol as I only live 35 miles away so is only a couple of quid off, but i do want a mk1, but £100 isn't really all that much anymore but moneys not the issue

It was only £72, I reckon I can finish it for less than £500, plus Mk1's are hard to find for less than £500, I want a 5 door, they just get scrapped!

get the ron champion haynes locost book & slap the biggest decent north south engine (not a xflow) you can find into it & panel it with thin ally from an old caravan...... seven.

not with all that iron.....

i'd love to build one with A series running gear on twin su's, & running on castrol r, cos the sound & smells would be just like an original lotus one.....

why not?

it looks like a heavy chassis for a bike engine compared to a new seven..

in the days of the dutton, they just made them strong & hadn't access to computer aided designs.
