what are peoples veiws?
really want a camera to take good quality pictures but havent much money at all and want something rated well for a first camera :)

Good question. I need a good cam but a nice SLR will skint me upto crimbo..

Not all good cams are DSLRs.

im looking around 150ish maximum i would like a dslr or as close too.

At that budget I'd definately avoid a dslr - buying the camera is just the tip of the iceberg.

What do you mainly want to take pictures of?

Don't know what other people's opinions of them are, but for that kind of money you could get one of the Fuji 'bridge cameras'. I've had two and had good results with them. I Sold a finepix S5800 in mint condition for £60 on ebay about a month or so ago. They have most of the features of an SLR, and a good lense - without being an actual SLR, and at a fraction of the price.

has to be good all around for photos of my daughter cars buildings and landscapes and motion shots.
