View Full Version : Is it physically possible...
...to have a F28 mounted to the original Nova chassis mount and rubber?
Is there enough space?
Any pics of F28 gearboxes fitted so I can see how much room is left?
Cheers

the rear gear box mount remains the same but you have to cut the front one off and replace it with a drivers side engine mount and cut the little lug off the bottom of the gear box and you have to lower your tie bars but you can buy kits for that now but apart form that they fit just nice

He knows this, but wants to keep it on the original nova mount.

paul have you got round to doing the gear linkage yet i need some info on what you need to do to them to make them fit?
The factory mount is in the way of where the box needs to sit, the factory mount can be move forward and then a custom bracket be made like Joff's, but surely the tried and tested 6 speed mount is the way to go.
Do you think everyone with a F28 in their Nova has wanted to cut the mount off cut to create themselves more work?
Yeh mine works fine, you need to cut the rod off of the linkage where it connects to the gearbox, so you basically have the U shape bracket welded directly to the metal plate with no rod, you also need to turn it very slightly but i cant remeber which way. Do a search.
Back on topic, No it wont fit.

No, but david dixon said hes making a new type of mount where it fits the standard rubber.
Everyone seems to say its not possible so I'm wondering how is it going to fit?
The proof will be in the pudding as they say, I know that David knows his Nova turbos but if it can be done then why hasn't it been done already as people have been doing f28s into Novas for over fifteen years
