i miss my nova  any hows i need more pull from a 1.4 16v corsa sport thinking of going to a 1.4 8v any ideas what parts will fit or extra parts id need to put a 8v in ? an is it possible to put a 8v head on the 16v bottom, may go with solid lifters an dubble spring so it will be able rev as hi as a 16v an have low down pull off a 8v

a fairly cheap and effective way to get some more power from your 1v is to fit a powerbox thing that replaces the inlet manifold and a 4-2-1 system. it will free up some power from them

You're going backwards if you want to stick an 8v in it to be honest. Those 16v motors are very good, with a decent exhaust and inlet set up on it you will have well over 100bhp out of it with lots of grunt. Then if funds allow you could get a set of cams for it, the list goes on but putting an 8v motor in is just going to lose you power rather than gain any.

If you have the money for solid lifters and double valve springs, and cams, and a 1400 engine, and all the other associated bits.

Then you can afford a c20xe:)

Personally I'd keep the 16v engine but what is it your wanting to use the car for, track days, drag strips or bypass runs against your mates?

If your willing to spend alot of money then have a look here SBDCLICKY (http://www.sbdev.co.uk/History_files/History_InstantExpert.htm) to get your engine upto spec.
