My c20xe engines idle seems to be sitting a bit high. not sure why this is. its sitting at about 1,000-1,100 rpm, im using the standard clock, just wondering if there actually all that accurate. or there is something afoot! what causes things like this?:thumb:

Check for air leaks, and the throttle cable isn't poorly adjusted (seen this before, fooked cable was the cause)

Don't trust the standard nova clocks, they're not overly accurate lol

i know that, but tachometers are usually more accurate as they just work on a pulse. but it does sound high rigardless. and yeh ive taken off the cable and nothing happened, also took the throttle body off and cleaned it good, no change, held it up to the light however and how good is the seal ment to be between the throttle body and the butterflys? replaced every pipe now apart from the oil vapour hoses at the cam cover, but there fine. and just done the gasket at the top hat. no change. i recently rebuilt it didnt i so the inlet gasket is also done. i cleaned that up good before fitting. but still high idle! such a pain in the ****

can you force the throttle flap so it closes more?? Theres an adjustment screw on linkage, 8 or 10mm nut. Maybe thats too far out?

will give it a go, but don tlike to adjust possible factory setting, but like you said earlier someone else could of played with it!
