its not uncommon for a company to "vanish" then reappear a short time later that is in the same location selling the same stuff. Happens quite a lot actually

Personally I would use him if he set up again, he is good at what he does, rally/race prep and conversion parts, obviously he had problems with his mail order and I would only collect for him and pay cash or through Ebay for my own piece of mind, hopefully he'll learn where the mistakes were made and make another go of it, I do empathise with the people who lost money and also have no choice but to mail order due to the distances involved, It was very similar to Pvd that went bump a good few years earlier, I got fooked about by them royal over a Mtech conversion kit but finally it came and I didn't loose out but it was a matter weeks after that they through the towel in, I know people are now beginning to offer the parts that Chris did but 6 speed mounts and equal length shafts have been hard to get hold of since he folded

I didnt think he was to bad tbh. I have used worse supposedly more reputable companies that are still trading!

Problem is that his time scale for parts wasnt matched to the time he gave you when you orderd.:(

Stuart

lol @ people still giving him the benefit of the doubt.

If it was ANYONE else then you'd be lynching them... I wouldnt stand for shoddy timescales and wouldnt go back "just incase hes sorted it"
A company drops a bollock once, means they NEVER get custom from me ever again.

he appeared to be a nice bloke, but he was trying to do too much on his own.. and he simply wasn't making enough money for himself. he was either too cheap, or not selling enough of them, or paying too much to his suppliers.

either way, i think the nova community is better with him in it, because it keeps others out

Take window companies, one vanishes on the friday and on the monday it reopens under a different name. IIRC Beavers auto panels has done similar?

any clever business man keeps a holding company & a working company.

the holding company owns the vehicles & kit. the working company then rents it from the holding. if someone goes pop on the working company & takes it under, there really are no assets to seize. we had it happen a few years back & it saved our bacon...the only assets found were a wheelbarrow & 2 shovels

Elddis Transport is a large haulage (http://www.museumstuff.com/learn/topics/haulage) company in Great Britain (http://www.museumstuff.com/learn/topics/Great_Britain), based in Consett (http://www.museumstuff.com/learn/topics/Consett). The company also made caravans (http://www.museumstuff.com/learn/topics/Travel_trailer) at one point, although this business now exists as a separate group. The company's name is the reverse of its original name, Siddle C Cook Ltd. The company's livery is a light green (http://www.museumstuff.com/learn/topics/green) cab and a violet (http://www.museumstuff.com/learn/topics/Violet_color) cargo area curtain.

TBH I dont see what the big hohar is that he (if it is Mr Astley?) has started up again.

Yeah ok, he made a mistake/s business wise & it went pete tong. Yea I called him a "lazy @unt" & others had there say & rant at him blah blah blah. Water under bridge kinda thing.

Yet, when it comes down to it, everyones gotta make a living some how & in my expereince's aswell as most others, you stick to what you know & what your good at.

If hes started up again, fair play, I wish him all the best by all means. Just I sincerley hope he's learnt from his past mistakes etc & finds his place back in the scene :)

I'd say he'll do okay on eBay as when you agree to buy it asked for instant payment, aslong as he actually has the parts that are listed then there should be no problems, already a top rated seller on t'bay

Yeah ive been keeping track on eBay & if it is Chris, he seems to be doing good trade via there. Walking before you can run kinda thing (same as what I did many moons ago).

Altho on a different note, its not really that hard to make a good name selling via eBay. But thats neither here nor there.
