a mate of mine had a vtr and i ust to piss all over him in a 1.4sri corsa b only thing i did was load it up with speakers and magic tree's and lowered it by 40mm so if a 1.4 can piss on a vtr i think a 2l nova will on a vts. but again bearing in mind the other driver in his 2l nova might have been sat at the lights still laughing as the vtr drove off lol

Saxo VTR is only something like 88bhp, so will never set the world on fire. I believe the facelift ones are 100bhp though, so a little improvement, but thats still not a lot when you have to drag round mod cons such as PAS, comfy interiors, air bags, EW, etc.

A 1.6 MPi Nova will rinse a VTR pretty easy. Will also give a VTS a good run for a short while too.

Lewis.
21-07-10, 01:03 PM
just had a look on autodata, and a phase 1 VTR is only 90bhp, phase 2 VTR is 98bhp and the VTS is still only 120bhp, so how is that gonna beat a 200bhp Nova turbo, which is lighter anyway  lol

these boys in there saxos make me lol

one fat driver then, 850ish on the owners club

Ok, ill meet you in the middle at 900kgs just for reasoning, and tbf, with me and you in, its gonna be a tonnelol

So, a 1.0 bog nova is 730kgs according to haynes.

150bhp, 750 kgs nova (+ 20 for engine) 187.5bhp per tonne.

Your GTI is 900kgs, 139.8bhp, so 154.2bhp per tonne.

And the xe has more torques.

So, this is an even bigger can of wormslol

A lot of people put them down, but VTS's and GTi's are fooking quick motors for 1600's.

I beat a Veccy V6 (2.5 with 3.0 cams apparently (170/180bhp??) quite easily down the 1/4 in my white nova with about 120-125bhp

Yeah, they dont make much torque, but they dont need torque like a 1400kg car does.

alot of it as well is the driver, 400cc isnt alot of difference if you have one nutcase and one 'normal' driver plus knowing your car and its/your limits is a big advantage

funny thread this big car vs little car!
i have a 163bhp diesel 2.5 v6 audi cab against(private road of course) 2.2ton
little corsa vxr 190bhp weights say a bean tin and meh,
side by side though he looked chuffed thought hed done really well as mines an s4 rep till i stopped and told him it was a diesel
the torque is where its at
the 106s are pretty nippy i personally was in my friends at topped out at 137 no more and it felt scary and felt like i was going to die (airstrip of course)

public racing isnt big and isnt clever keep it to the dragstrip:thumb:

I have a pug gti and i don't think it's the fastest thing ever :wtf: However, for a daily drive i think it is perfect. Small, cheap to run and although they are obviously no match for LETs, they are still able to keep up with most hatchbacks and have the power there if you want to give it a thrash.

I love mine, will be sad when i sell it tbh.
