no spark

hay i jest got a nova and can only get 1 spark on the spark plugs do any 1 no why this could be ??? [ thinking imob alarm ] ??? got new coil and no distrib

If you're getting spark on one plug, It wont be anything to do with an immobiliser.

You bought a new dizzy (i think??) but did you change the rotor arm as well?

could be imob if its giving one spark at first some will allow engine to start but will then cut out get rid of it and try from there

take the rotor arm off and the dizzy cap off give it a damn good clean with a wire bruch also the ht lead you use to get the spark on the one plug use on the rest.

no imob as you call it will give 1 spark then stop inless its a vauxhall V6 or a renault. most will just cut off ignition or starter but like jimbo says what motors in it?????

its got a brand me coil brand me module and jest got new cap and distributor :( ? did u say there could b a naf starter ????? and what does (sp) mean

sp = single point before you bought a new dizzy cap did you give it a good clean first? would of saved you money. have you tested the one ht lead that works on the one plug with the rest to make sure its not the leads? if so and you have no spark still a the new parts should solve the problem

Lol when. I wrote sp? It means I was unsure that I spelt the word correctly. It won't be a naff starter cause that's got nothing to do with the spark.

Was the nova origanly the 1.4 engine or has it been put in by someone else?

If it's a replacement engine the shell might have been a 1l to start with that runs a resisted wire to the coil as the 1l coil runs on 6v.

i got a new coil today put it on and its fireing then cuts straight out think i need to do the timing now cuz it is back fireing. need to no what lead goes on what cap on the distributor cuz think i muddled them up and not to sure wid the timing if any 1 could exsplane it to me ??? thx dar and thx for ur help MINT

yes it was a 1.2 but got a 1.4 init

the wires on the dizzy to the plugs are as follows looking from the right wing in...
top right far plug
bottem right next along
top left next one along
bottem left last one.

look from the passengers side wing in and you will have the right order.. thats what is on my 1.2 it maybe different on a 1.4 but im unsure
