C20xe R1 carbs high idle

Right having a problem with my car and idling high once it has heated up

Basically i have a 2.1 on r1 carbs running megajolt ignition,

the jets are drilled to 1.8mm and the needles are set to the highest point on the needle itself, the mixture screws are also set at what is stated which i think is 3 turns, but no info infront of me at the moment.

It starts of at about 900 rpm then started to rise to about 1500 without the throttle being touched, the butterflys are fully closed also as the idle cable is fully unwond and not touching the stay


Any one any ideas?

sounds like an air leak some were chekc hoses to inlet manifold are secure chancer had problems with his and had to make a support bracket to hold the carbs so they wernt just resting on the rubbers he had a bogg brothers manifold iirc

That "mixture" screw, is for the idle isnt it?

Try leaning out the idle slightly?

Always work in "5 minutes" with carbs;)

Sorry its the pilot screw and its 3.5 turns

Pilot is 500-1250 rpm, wind that in slightly;)

i have these carbs on the 1.8 xe1 and it has a flat spot mid range but pulls like **** at high revs and down low?
