It's an 84' Car, exterior and interior look in good nick and relatively low mileage, but concerned about whatelse may lurk beneath!

Correct, take everything of value then get shot of it
Much better shells out there yet

Easier said than found, theres very few, I want a 5 Door, which are acutally rarer than 3 doors!
Rebuild it , whats the point in scrapping it ?
depends how much you want it, theres a lot of work there but if you can DIY or get someone to do it cheap then crack on, otherwise get looking for another shell! id say do it, theres way to many old vaux's on the scrapheap, save it!

Well if the Mk1 5 door is rarer than the 3door then surely the work is worth it?? You can probably double the money you spend on it and what you brought it for once you got it looking nice. Just depends on how much work you want to put in on it.

Doesn't look bad to me. I think anyone into old vauxhalls should be able to weld. Buy a mig, learn a new skill, and never have to pay for someone else to weld your cars again.

p40 all the way :) simply rub it down with a wire bruch wack in some p40 sand it flat and job done. if it gets it past a mot your in :)
that's nothing.
everything you posted is still available. only thing important is the floor, where the pedals are. that's the worst part, 2 layers and a chassis leg, and no repair parts available.
