Well i got given a red mk2 nova for free.

plans were to do something to it, at the time i was unsure of what to do.
But after having a little look over the forum i decided i was going to make it into a covertible, i did try to sell it to get moneys towards an SR that i saw for sale which is now sold, I read a WIP that someone did on a 3dr Mk2 that turned out realy nice and look amazing.

Has anyone thought about doing one before? or done one?

I want to find out where it is i need to cut, where the support rods should go to hold up the material, where to get the hood from, things like that.

heres the pic that is going to inspire me to do this project.

EDIT: I want to keep the back seats by the way.

Yeah, imo it looks amazing too, it was good to see a convertible with the back seats in. Im using this to inspire my build but i want to find out some things before i get an angle grinder out lol

Build a Michalak mid engine? or just a convertible?

Can anyone give me any more details or anything like that on a 3dr convertible? I'm speaking to DavidFox at the minute who's GSI Convertible is in the thread. Hes gave me alot of info, top bloke :thumb:

IMO it wouldnt be to hard.

Chop chop chop where it has been in the pic above.
weld in plates on the sides, and posible roof gap,

then geta company to make youa custom roof, but thats gonna be pricey either way.

what about a clip on hard top, make it out of fibreglass etc

I never knew that, I'm just after a few detailed pics of where the support beams go, like i know there's 2 that go from each rear Q, and he put extra support on the B pillar.
I'll give it a go myself and once ive got it all cut out etc ill take it to a place where they do the roofs and see how much it is.
Ill see how it goes, if it don't work out then it can go scrap yard :)
