I took some pics of it on the thrailer when my parents arrived home from Anglesey this afternoon.

Its a 70's Triumph Trident which was one of the first ever 'superbikes' before the Jap marques really took over & killed off the British motorcycle industry.

750cc triple, absolutely sounds like thunder when revving. Its in a Triumph Trophy 650 frame which is a twin (2 cylinder) bike, so kinda like a 2.0 in a Nova.

Anyway. pics.

Just a shame about the weather in Anglesey this weekend. My folks brand new tent got ruined in 92mph winds!!

It does sound like Hell boiling over & it is cafe styled as said.

Tow car is appalling but is only being abused whilst my folks renovate another property. :thumb:

Problems with the rear brake or does it just not get used? lol

Probably rusted over on the way home. Bit of a 'wet weekend' by all accounts.

My In-Laws were at Anglesey taking pics of a friend racing bikes this weekend. I'll ask if they have an action shots of that one. Amie's Dad loves the triumph triples - he's got a few that he's restored tucked away.

My family where down there, never took a bike, as the track time was expensive:(

The event was the Beezumph rally. I's been at Cadwell previously but they have changed venue. My Dad was saying the circuit is awesome, really quick.

My Dad has got a road going Trident which is the origin of the engine & also a road going Trophy which is where the frame comes from too, amongst many others. Oh & a spare 750 motor under his bench lol
If he shared my passion for Novas I'd have a pretty sorted car I can tell you.

It wasnt just the japs that fecked trihump over, there were some rpetty retarded managers on the scene there at the time.... who then went into university lecturing lol

Were doing a 64 pre unit bonny atm.

Dont really see the thrill, as 70mph flat out is worse than a 1.0 nova lol

Pretty sure the Tridents are good for 120mph.
I keep telling my dad he needs some TB's from a modern bike & an ECU. He's having none of it. mapping from the pillion LOL.

He was running some Yamaha Mikuni's on his other Trident years ago in an attempt to get some economy from it. Nice manifold he made for it aswell. It's back on the Amal's strangely.

TB's on sub 4 cylinder bikes are a complete bitch... trust me I have a lot of experience in calibrating various twins (Vee, side by side and inline :s )
A tripple would be a slut to get right lol

And in most cases WONT see any more power from it and weirdly very marginal on the economy stakes.

Ahh, my old man knows best then as per usual.

I just thought it'[d make a good project & no doubt cause massive offense at the local meets & within the club. 70's classic bike with a wideband hanging out the back. lol

He will get it running, get it setup and discover there is minimal gains had.

Unless hes also modding the engine aswell, then its not a normal comparison.

There is a reason why bikes didnt move to EFI for a LOOONNNNGGGGG time.

If the chineeeeeeese are having to make their bikes EUro 2/3/4 compliant, then im pretty damn sure the rest of the bike world is too.
