View Full Version : Washers between cam-cap and head?!

Should there be any?

My XE has been leaking, so swopped the rocker covers, and after speaking to John H - he said they can leak from dizzy cam cap too, so whipped it off and found these little buggers!

Obviously it can't be making a very good seal with those there, hence the leakage...

lol when i bought a cav gsi the exhaust had crazy amount of sealant stuff round the manifold so i took it off to look and there was a washer on one of the threads under the gasket stopping it sitting flush.

I think i'm going order some better bolts as i've got some annodised ones on atm and they are a little springy when un-doing them..

That'll be the cause of the leak fella. check the cap isn't damaged where you've tightened it down onto the washers. :)

Well, still need to sort the sump out!! But i think that 90% was from the camcap area...
