Going to see a C20LET

I've never had a turbo'd car before so unsure on what sort of things to check to make sure the engine is in good working order and is boosting alright etc.

The engine is still in the car and will be heard running and taken out for a drive.

What sort of things should I look out for?

Smoke during and after boost, rattles and taps from cold, weak actuators not holding boost well, lack of regular services - Colour of oil etc etc

Tapping from cold that disappears after a moment or 2 is OK.
make sure its cold when you get to it to check for cold start issues.

Look over the loom also. Many issues stem from chafed wires & damaged plugs/connectors.

If its in a converted car, look for installation bodges & poor wiring etc.
