If you are Retarded then you should not be touching the brakes at all !!! lol

See the pic that AW06 posted of mine. There are a few more i the articles thread aswell. Same cables used. I bought a new mk2 cable joiner thingy from Vaux as i couldnt find mine!!
The cav cable (the one with he threaded end) i had coming from the nearside BTW.

Mine? From hard work and elbow grease!!
Should be long nova cable to n/s and cav estate short cable on o/s. Missing the sleeving bit in the middle

im still confused how the cables stil in the bracket thing ???
They screw in,
On the Nova long bit there should be an off shoot which hooks in to the holder.
The Mk2 Cav estate bit will have a threaded bit at the end.
These screw in to the adjuster in the middle, that's how you tighten up the cables.
Like this (best old pic i have, before my arches and beam where painted)

From the back. *apparently i have the cables in the wrong way. Short cable is meant to be on the o/s. Dont see what difference it makes TBH! I have added a sleeve to make the adjuster reach the nut. Probably not needed but meh! Also the adjuster setup i have is a mk2*

whats the theory behind having part cav and part nova cable im due to change mine and wondered if im missing out on something
i have just bought a nova long and short but if theres some better reason to use a cav one then i could do that

Do you have a disk rear beam?

no i dont
i just realised that its for rear discs conversion after seeing it in the guide section
Solves that problem then..
If you use a Mk2 Cav estate cable the threaded bar on the end of the cable is longer so there's no need to extend it.
