Hi all,

I picked up my Nova Tuesday from a very good fella from this site, Luke Stavrinidis2008 (Cheers mate)
I've had a few Novas in my time but the last one I owned was over ten years ago, I've tried moving onto other motors, R5 GTT, Clio Sport CUP, Golf GTI but for some reason I had to come back to the Nova, I just love em.
I've got plans for the little beats....
Can anyone recommend a decent engine replacement, the nova only has a 1.2 and I want a 1.6 or 1.8 16v if poss.
Nova alrady has uprated suspension (coilovers) and brakes (Vectra Calipers, Fiat Coupe Disc's)
I wanna slip a tidy engine and box straight in with a slittle work and fuss as possible as I have to attempt his on my drive way.....
I'm on the look out for a tidy set of Cav Slabs too if anyone out there has any up for grabs, may even do a deal with the wheels on my nova now if interested.
I also have a chrome rear roll cage if anyone is interested? Currently fitted but can easily be removed.
Keep an eye out on this thread as I'll be updating it as often as I can.

Hi mate, I don't want to spam that other thread, the e16se is a good engine from a nova with 100 bhp from factory it will fit your car no mods required other that fuel tank and external fuel pump that the standard gte/gsi cars had

Do I need to move the tank or something mate......
Is it true that if you fit a red top you have to start to seam weld the bay?

Just checking but is your 1.2 a carb or injection? If a carb you'll need to change your petrol tank, otherwise yours will be fine.

You don't HAVE to, but most people do, and it is recommended. And its stitch welding you want (gaps between welds), not a continuos seam which can crack.

Thanks guys. I'll have to check if it's carb or Inj.
Only had it 2 days and I've not even cleaned it yet..... Saturday is the day to give it the once over

What's a good price to pay for a 1.6 GSI engine and a 2.0 16v?
What would you recommend?

I go for a 1.6 you don't get a gazillion bhp out of them but it's good enough, that one for sale has all you need at a fair price IMO

I used to own a couple of GTE's and 1 GSI back in the day and they seemed quick enough then......
Thanks for your feedback mate
