xe a bit smoky????

well try that first as there not to difficult to change, if that doesnt work headgasket or piston rings are next check! do a compression test that can sometimes identify

it as i go a long.....and i had a compression test done and it seemed to be fine :S....

Colour of smoke would help??

IOf the compression is OK then prob stem seals, but if it smokes ALL the time - it could be the head gasket - but that would be white smoke....

it white mate but it only does it going along...i havent had a lamber sensor fitted yet could it be that ???....:)

Sounds like head gasket pal.. How long/how many miles since it has had a new one?

the engine has sat a round for about a year and i put it in my nova and have done about 10 miles in it....ive had to change sump gasket main oil sill and its had a new waterpump and cambelt along with a new fuel rail and injectors...

i no its overfueling due to no lamber sensor in there yet.....

its not a lot off smoke but i can see a little out my passenger mirror.....

i got my older bro to follow me(hes a mechanic) he said its blue smoke and said its oil....anyone no the cause of this ???.....cheers for your help tho dudes great help:)......

probably just and old tired xe. if it runs well and has no problems then it will be worn ring if its just when giving it some.

just drive it and get used to the smoke :)

im from ramsgate mate.....and the weird thing is i wasin the red on petrol i put a 10ner in and its stoped smoking??? :S lol....my nova is white stripped out and cav slab alloys....:)...
