mk1 astras had awful rear shell strength. my mum's 1983 1300 went back to the dealer times to try & sort out a persistent noise from the tailgate..... also, a lot of people prefer a boot. in really cold countries, a boot keeps the heat in the passenger space.

the centre cap was exactly where we thought it was :) but it had fallen of at a cross junction down a country line near my house, which was lucky cus like 10 meters further on and we wouldn`t have seen it so it was a proper win :d

EDIT: Can i just add, i feel quite proud of my self, as i really didn't think many would like my MK1 that much as it's SO STANDARD etc, but it got a hell of allot of lookers poking round it, and i feel like i have achieved quite a good standard so far on keeping it nice, im far from finished too, need to get it off the road to do lots more to it, need an everyday car to do this though.
