hi all
2day we converted a friends 1.2spi nova to a c16se
got it all in startred 1st time ticks over realy sweet, and you can rev it and it soulds perfect!
prob is is when you take it out on the road it coughs and splutters! after 3000rpm and feels like it has no power!?
probs it could be.-

using 1.2i intank pump, is this ok or do we need gsi tank and out board pump?

we are running it with out the lambda sensor as the current manifold does not allow this!

i have to timed it right? it has dis ingnition system but as i say ticks and revs fine out of gear

we havnt connected the carbon canister tank?

to me it feels like a fuel prob but what do you lot think?
thanks
dan

out of everything u have listed the only thing i can see having any affect on the enginesd performancew is the lamda sensor

im not to sure about the tank it might not be getting enough fuel in but deffently get a lambda sensor fitted otherwise the it doesnt know how much fuel to chuck in

u WILL need 2 change the pump, i had the same prob when i dropped my 1600 in (8v), change the pump got a GTE 1 and it was sound, prob sorted.

courntey told me 2 do that as the 1.2i pump runs at 0.76 bar, GTE runs at 3 Bar of pressure MASSIVE DIFF!!!!!

change the pump, prob solved

hope this helps

some people say you should change the fuel lines too as the GTE/GSi had metal ones to cope with the pressure as opposed to the black and brown plastic ones.

as for the lambda sensor, i dunno if GSi engines were different but on the GTE the airflow meter (or whatever you call it) regulates the fuel. you do not need the sensor
