toying with the idea of saving for a Mk2 GTE, but obviously it will depend on what insurance is going to be like.

Has anyone tried to insure a standard GTE at 20??

i know, i was looking more at getting an 8v but condition is more important than the engine. No rush to get one as i don't want to land myself a ****ter plus longer i take finding one the more money I will have to spend on it

fair enough, but insurance prices seems to have taken a hike in last few years :( just after sumat standard but fairly quick and reliable, preferably a Vauxhall

will try them next week, they aren't open on a Saturday. Flux don't seem to bad with standard cars so may give them a call too

The clue is that it's a Nova enthusiast site in the main hence why people spend money on them. If they didn't surely the site wouldn't really have a purpose.

I had an astra mk2 at 19, i put a redtop in it then sold it for a let build lol

You'll be back, but good cars. I would just get the 16v straight off though, theres a very big difference in performance.
