Right as you guys love the older cars in here thought I would see if anyone wants my old Escort.
1990 Ford Escort 1.3 Eclipse 5 door in metalic blue (Think its called Maritius Blue, a bit lighter than Arden Blue) showing about 85000miles
Engine is a diamond that will pull from idle and all the way up the rev range. it also returns a good 40-55mpg, I have recently done a 210 mile round trip most of which was on the Motorway and it averaged about 52.5mpg. The 5 speed gearbox is decent & will pull you about at 30mph in 5th all day long. The only mechanical issue I know of is the starter motor solenoid sometimes sticks and will only buzz when you try to start it. However if it doesn't start first time it usually starts after another go.
The body isn't in fantastic nick, however its also not 75% Rust! There is only a small amount of rust bubbled up on the rear arches and a couple of larger bubbles behind the rear doors & one on the bonnet. This is all I have found & the last MOT didn't highlight any more. There are dinks & dents all over, worst being the drivers wing which has had a run in with a fence post (previous owner).
Brakes are sound, the garage I bought it from had only just replaced the front pads & serviced the car.
The car has Electric Windows, Central locking & sunroof (although the handle is missing) also has Sony CD player waiting to go in. The seats are very comfortable. the rear bench has some stitching thats come apart.
Car has plenty of life left in it & from what I have been told its also a rare & sought after model. Could be worth more if tidied up.
