I've been quoted £200 to replace the lower valance panel  I have the panel and would strip the bumper, wings, lights and everything for them
Is this as bad a quote as i feel it is?

no lol
If that's including prep and paint etc it ain't to bad,
If that's including prep and paint etc it ain't to bad,
No paint just the chop and weld
it is a time consuming job to be fair, drilling all the spot welds out and drilling new ones etc
I replaced the whole thing on my Nova with no prior experience in that area. Pice of pish. Took me a day like, just plodding along.
I don't have a welder or anything
Yeah I agree can be very time consuming getting the panel off the chassis legs.
I reckon you should shop about abit, as I would expect for that prices to have it painted.

I'd possible pay it if it was painted too

i didnt know dick turpin had gone into the body repair industry:confused:
spot drill bits are £9 from strap on and theyre ideal for drilling bread and cheese etc
I was thinking the same thing, 4 hours solid work at fifty pounds an hour, pretty standard just to walk in most garages
I'll find someone. My supervisor had the front panel done on his SR cheaper then that.
I went down here, the bloke was very helpful

Thats cheap £200
Bodyshops are £70 and hour usually, so £200 is fk all.
Let Matt do it, but I have seen pigeons poo neater than his welding lmfao

Thats funny, as you have never seen my welding:wtf:
I think your getting at seans welding on the shell, with the reg on the gas turned off:roll: and the wrong settings on the transformer pulse lol
My welding is quite neat tbf:d
Maybe because I have only had bodywork done by a good long term friend and get it done at a cheap price I don't know the proper costs.

Only joking Matt, are you having your man period or something? I have seen your welding when you were trying to put your big bore 2 tail pipe back on your white one
This is the sum of my welding experience...

yeh thats like 400 mile round trip!
I need to buy a MIG. Bear in mind the plate's 8mm thick. I did a course at college, they got the safety gumph out of the way, we welded for half an hour then they cancelled the course before the 2nd week cause the numbers were low as they had passed some new rule about extraction with gas welding so it cut the amount of people on the course... GAY
Cheers bmw mental mileage, it'd double the amount of miles on my cars clock lol
