A little advice here please.
I have various documents, sales brochoures (sp) and printed articles on the vauxhall nova and some relate to specific models ie the sport, if I take pictures or scan these said items and post the up in a thread does that break copyright?
Will the club frown upon this and delete said thread or is it all good and I can post away.
I doubt it breaking any copyright laws, not like your printing 1000's and selling them, plus they'll think it old tat and not care lol
i too have some interesting stuff that would make decent reading for people, so i'm registering an interest in this too
personally, i don't think the publishers of a free handout for a car mag rac rally special pullout, that it appears vauxhall paid for in 1989 would be bothered to chase up & sue anybody, but strictly speaking, anyone who copies & then distributes a copyright item is breaking the law.... but my pdf of the gm nova comp built manual does get asked for a lot.....

If this goes ahead I think it would be a nice thing if it went in the Club Chat area, something else worth paying the subscription for.

I think if its older/harder/rarer to get then it would be alright posting images, problem comes if it's still available to buy so EPC and Haynes manuals for instance I would of thought are no-nos.
Yeah deffo in the club section for me
29. Research and Private Study
Fair dealing with a literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work for the purposes of research for a non-commercial purpose does not infringe any copyright in the work provided that it is accompanied by a sufficient acknowledgment
I believe it should be Ok so long as the original author is credited and we do not charge for the provision (club membership doesn't constitute a payment specifically to view the documents, as they will no doubt be hosted on open available filestores)
Go for it. Agree on the club section though.

I got some brochure's and what-not of various Vaux cars. I did actually put up scans of colours a while back from a Vaux brochure or two. I think it does fall under copyright but it's of great usefullness if some of this info was on here.

as long as you credit its source. it should be ok....
thanks guys, the first one from me shall be photos ( i'll make sure its good ones) of the nova sport sales brochure, it'll be posted in the sport zone.
edit as for the club zone posts, would it be possable to have a little seperate forum for nova related scans and pics of said articles? as i feel they may be lost within the other threads ( just a thought)

Basil just start the thread in club chat and ask one of admin to make it a sticky thread, it won't dissapear into the wilderness then ;)

erm - isnt this something similar to the old skool mags that live at Riggy's. Prob is getting decent enough scans and on line storage space - and the time to scan the stuff.
