Car Tax Question

Just got a new daily drive but with no tax.

I only have the small bit of the log book, V5C/2

Can i use this to tax it on line ?

or do i have to wait for the new cover note to come then take it all to the post office ?

or even worse lol have to send off the slip and wait for the full V5c to come back with my adddress on it ?

iv changed my insurance over as well but cant seem to do it online

any help/ideas would be great

Damn. There's a few problems lol.

You can tax a car ont he new keepers supplement, but if you'rwe awaiting insurance docs then you will have to bide your time IMO mate.

I have only changed the insurance over bout a hour ago lol

so once thats sorted will it work on line then ?

or have to wait for me cover note ?

If I'm thinking rightly you can't tax it online without the tax reminder or the V5c. Nice weather for the bike. (I laughed the other day when you said you went to the scrap yard on it. Can imagine you returning with a bonnet or something equally large.) lol

iirc, as the dvla wont of changed the registerd(sp) keeper details the tax disc would be sent to the former keepers address

you cant tax on line as the log book is registered at the former keepers still so tax disk will go there

you can tax with the green slip at the post office but will need the certificate so you will have to wait for that to arrive mate
