Is it an easy enough job to swap the speedo or mileage dials between clocks mk1 clocks

depends how you do it mate. i changed the whole speedo/odometer unit but the dial face in the 6 dial clocks is smaller than in the original 1.0 clocks so the face needs swapping. This requires removal of the needle which needs to go back in exactly the right position. I have also heard that the odometer reading can be changed by fiddling with the internals

I have some gte clocks but sone of the dials don't work and it's mileage is only 2k off my original mileage of 41k which is on my 1.0 clocks

I want a rev counter but to try n keep the mileGe as close as possible

Are you trying to change the whole binnacle from a pov sepc one to a SR/GTE set? Or do you want to change the speedo only from a pov spec to the SR/GTE set?

If it's the latter then the pov spec speedo is larger in dıameter.

If you wanna change the lot then it's easy.

yeh thats what i was trying to get at, although it was probably hard to understand lol

personally if they are within 2,000 of each other i wouldnt bother fiddling around swapping them just bang the GTE clocks in as they are

it is a dead easy job to redo the numbers on the clocks. i don't think anyone is going to get done ringing a nova, but they might try to falsify the reading to make it more sellable, so i won't go into details.

I have the original poverty spec clocks with original mileage of 41k I also have gte clocks on 43k but some of the guages don't work but the speedo is fine

I'm looking for another set of clocks but there's not many with that low a mileage and was gonna swap them with the gte clocks I have

if you are prepared to get the small tools out, you can reset the speedo clock in about 10 minutes..... it really isn't difficult. you just need patience.

hi buddy

to be honest, just get a set of clocks (with all the dials working) stick it in and away you go :thumb:

if i were you i would'nt be bothered if the clocks read 41k, 42k or whatever if i was buying a nova with 41k on it that would say to me that its been round once allready i.e 10041k, unless you have loads of documented evidence to proove such a low milage on a 27+ year car :)

you have just swapped the engine have'nt you? if so then milage goes out the window anyway :)
