Well as alot of you will know i'm stripping my nova as ive basically had enough of it, ive been driving for 8 years and i've always had a nova along with something else (sometimes another nova, or two!)

So the time came to look for something less vauxhally and less fwd but I hate modern cars so this was kind of modern but still retro enough :d

So nice to drive, especially on the 3 hour drive back where the nova would have crippled my back!! lol

The spec so far is lowered 40mm on spax adjustables, 325 sport interior, stiffer arb's, E36 rack conversion, 325 spoiler.

This did come to mind when you told me you were going for something 'modern yet retro'.

Nice buy mate, looks very clean. 320?

316i, every guy thats seen it has said nice car mate, every girl has said 'why did you buy that, its an old mans car' shows what women know lol

It was a toss up between an E30 or an s13 200sx, although the 200sx would probably handle better ;)

Get a 3.5 into it lol 335 FTW

I love the E30, my mum had a 325i sport in metalic black and my brother had the 325i sport touring in red.

It might need some better tyres on the rear tbh lol I took a roundabout at normalish speed the other day and it caught me out lol, but should be alright in the wet.

Still getting used to it a bit but it does drive really well for what it is :d

Shame 316's are harder to find in the shape. Not cheap to insure a 318 or 320

Steve

Funny enough i'd a quote on go compare and for me a 325 was only £60 more than a 316 ?????

i always liked older bmw's, i looked into a e34 m5 at some point, but there expensive to maintain, let alone insure.

but on the other hand, i'm looking at ae86's at the moment, even harder to get parts lol

Cheers guys, was looking at a 200sx (s13) but ive always loved the simple lines of the e30. Mayhem, do you know how badly those ae86's rot!? make novas all look mint lol but i'd still have one, just a bit too pricey for me.

As for plans it needs another drivers seat as its missing one seat cover, but im considering getting a leather interior for it anyway, but they aint cheap! just enjoy it really, its still my 2nd car as I use the micra for work etc as its beyond economical lol

Looks nice, can't go wrong with an E30. Being a 316 isnt too bad aswell as they are so much easier to get the **** out than an E36. Shame you won't have the sound of a 6cylinder though.

Any plans for it? I would look for some 60mm springs and try find some avez's or some old skool wheels for it.

Edit : i also agree, that is not a 1.6 lol That's a 6 cylinder engine and looks pretty much the same as my old 320.

General Baxter

legg, the photo of his engine bay was 6 cylinder so its not a 1.6 lol

Im seriously thinking of buying a 325sport this year. Iv really grown to like the shape of the coupe rather than the cab.

General Baxter
10-07-10, 01:09 PM
back seat space is piss poor, lol

all i really can remember of that car was, my sister not got her belt on in the back,

i let the back end go and she ended up flying across the seat and banging her head on the drivers window lol

Steve
10-07-10, 01:17 PM
Guys, I know its not a 316 lol everyone keeps asking me why I bought a gutless 316, I thought they knew me better than that lol. Yeah its a 325, the guy I got it from bought a complete (rotten) 325i and swapped engine, box and back axle with disc brakes etc.

Its also lowered 40mm on spax psx, 325 spoiler and seats, not sure if the alloys were on there originally but they suit it so they'll stay for now.
