View Full Version : Anyone got access to EPC with MK4 Astra/Corsa D/C?
no its not an illegal request :p
I want to know the part number (and possibly a piccy emailed to me) of the ABS plumbing bypass block. Ie for cars not fitted with ABS, they have a block that fits the ABS lines so as to reduce manufacturing complexity. I know I've seen it mentioned before but I cant get on MIG at work and my google is more restricted than Napalms access here lol

ill have a look when i get home tonight if you so wish :)
They just have a block on the blukhead same as corsa B's.
Different brake pipes etc. If you want i can get you a picture as i have one sat in my car atm.
EPC dont list any other kind of joining block for the mk4 astra/corsa c. Corsa D wont be on anybodys copy but vauxhalls own, funnly enough!
Ahh it was a B. cool, a piccy would be ideal, please send to lindborg.stuart@gmail.com :)
Cheers.
hmmm thats not what I thought it would be...
I'm sure I've seen a block that has the same layout as the ABS unit but just moves the fluid to the right corners without the ABS module being there for the uber poverty spec MK4astra/equivalent time corsa. Hope I didnt imagine it lol
Yeah, EPC dont list one, and ive never seen one lol
Surly if there was such a thing, it would just be floating lose?
EPC Do list brake lines "For ABS" "Not ABS" on corsa B and C, never checked ashtray.
stu i know what you mean, corsa c ones are a small block 3x2 inches with 5/6 pipes. next to the main big relay board. you need one?
Rob, your thinking of this aint ya

That isnt what stu means
Al, is that a piccy of what you sent me? (cant see at work lol)
Sloth, thats pretty much it yes. Takes the two feeds from the MC into the block and directs it to the 4 output lines. I dont needs one (yet) but a mate wants to ditch the ABS on a track car.
Yeah it is that pic.
Some new brake lines will be in order then, not much else to do.
stu, i can get hold of one if your desparate.
ROB :)
Just had a think, surely just undoing the abs sensors will make the system lock open and work like normal brakes? then remove the bulb for the mot? cheaper and easier than re lining it?
The pedal feel is still gay though.

to pass an mot doesn't the bulb need to come on for a few seconds with ignition then go out? After say 5seconds?
easy to get round if needed, but if the ABS module is removed then you dont need the lights ;)

5s latching relay ftw? lol
Light dont need to come on.
5s latching relay ftw? lol
ABS light wired into oil pressure light FTW ;) lol
stu: it might sound/look a bit pikey, but you could use some of those brass T pieces for brake lines, join 4 together with double ended fittings, so you have 2 inputs (each end) and 4 outputs (along one edge) its cheap as you like then
would it be a good spot for putting a bias valve????
Dosent need a bias valve, the car is well balanced on its braking as it stands :)
even though it is running with abs, don't you think the bias might change when the abs is ripped off it?
pah, if all else fails, rod brakes and drums ftw.
have you looked at demon skanks or merlin? sure they do stuff like this....
You could also look at Car Builder Solutions on page 10 click me (http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1nye6/ISSUE14CATALOGUE3rdJ/resources/index.htm?referrerUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nfauto.co.u k%2F). I've had a few bits and pieces from them for my Astra GTE, very good service as well.

Ahem.
